Good weather and classic car shows seem to go together, and vintage auto enthusiasts as well as those just looking for some family fun are encouraged to visit the second annual "Drive to the Future -- the Naperville Sunrise Rotary Auto Show" which will be held June 13 at Naperville North High School.

New, luxury, classic and antique cars will all be on display from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. And according to Deb Newman, public relations coordinator for the Sunrise Rotary, there will be plenty for kids, teens, and families to do in addition to viewing collector and dealer displays.

"We are making this a family-friendly event, and plan to have things for all ages," Newman said. "High school kids, for instance, will get to try out special glasses that show what drunk driving is like -- we want there to be an educational component to the event as well as entertainment. We're also working with the Children's Museum and the Heritage YMCA and the Park District to provide programs."

The car event is being organized by Carousel Sound, a large classic car promotion company. Newman said that 75 cars were featured in the show last year and expects that number to double this time.

"There are a lot of car enthusiasts in Naperville, and we got a lot of good exposure last year," she said. "We also feel that having the show at the high school this year will give us a lot more visibility."

On-site registration will be provided, and those interested in entering a car may find more information at www.carouselsound.com. Guests will vote on their favorite cars, and trophies will be awarded at 4 p.m. by Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel.

The event will benefit "Meals on Wheels" -- a program of the DuPage Senior Citizens' Council, as well as health and education projects in Haiti and Pursuit of Life Scholarships for students in need in the Naperville community. Last year, the show raised $15,000.
